Rudders & Paynes Property Preservation

I contacted Rudders and Payne as i had a damp issue on an interior wall. Using a damp meter i confirmed that the wall was damp. Having spoken to them they stated it was £!20 to be paid upfront for a damp survey. I foolishly paid the fee and they attended via appointment. Using a damp meter the surveyor confirmed what i knew, that the wall was damp. He took a few measurements of the wall and within 1/2 an hour had left. Upon receiving the survey report it simply stated that
" by using a moisture meter the wall was damp ". Attached were several Industry standard documents stating how the work would be completed to BS standards etc. The quote of £3100 plus vat was not broken down and had insufficient detail. I have contacted the company outlining my disappointment in the quality of the survey i had paid for but strangely they are not interested.
Do Not pay for a damp survey you will be suitably disappointed.
