Therma Foil
Therma-Foil insulation is extensively used with solid wood and laminate flooring, suspended floors, below carpet, vinyl and linoleum reflecting heat back into the room, at the same time improving air tightness by acting as a vapour barrier stopping airflow through draughty floorboards and resisting the passage of moisture.

Therma-Foil prevents heat loss, stops draughts and reduces floor noise, making laminate, wood and vinyl and linoleum flooring more comfortable to walk on.

Cold air penetrating rooms through concrete floors, timber floors and laminate floors has a significant impact on your home heating bills. Around 15% of heat is lost through cold floors in the home. Using Therma-Foil around the home can enhance ā€˜Uā€™ values in new-build or refurbished building projects and helps meet current Building Regulations.

Therma-Foil is made from 2.5mm of polyethylene foam coated with a metallised barrier on one surface and provides additional sound proofing between floors and creates a more comfortable walking area ā€“ especially when used under laminate and timber floors.

Therma-Foil can be used on ground floors, upper floors, above unheated spaces such as garages and cellars and in rooms where rising cold air reduces home energy efficiency.

Installation is very simple, with none of the hazards of traditional fibre-glass insulation. Made from 100% recyclable materials, Therma-Foil insulation is fibre-free, non-asthmatic and non-itchy - and you won't need to wear protective clothing when fitting it. This means you can install Therma-Foil in environments where allergens and irritants may have previously been a factor, including hospitals, schools and homes. Our foil insulation will also help you to meet the latest European air-tightness guidelines and can be installed along with secondary insulation to achieve even the strictest standards.
Fitting Therma-Foil insulation is simple.

Laying it direct on to the timber or concrete floor. Then seal joints and edges with a joining tape. You can then lay your laminate floor, wood, vinyl or underlay With radiant heat transfer reduced by up to 97%, it's easy to see how much energy you could be saving with Therma-Foil as your roof or wall insulation, and at only 2.5mm thick it's ideal as underfloor insulation, creating a moisture barrier that will protect your floor as well as prevent heat loss into the subfloor. When used as floor insulation, Therma-Foil doesn't lose effectiveness when compacted, giving it a long life of consistent performance under even the most heavy foot traffic. Therma-Foil insulation resists radiant heat flow due to their high reflectivity and low emissivity (ability to reflect and re-radiate heat). It works by reducing radiant heat transfer, as a result of the emissivity of the foil facing.
