NCC Launches New Training Programme

Construction News Image
The National Construction College (NCC), has launched a new training programme for 2010.

The College now offers businesses more than 200 training courses across 10 different course disciplines ranging from Scaffolding and Access and Plant Operations, to Health and Safety and Management and Leadership, through to Sustainability.

New training courses on offer include a wider range of management and leadership training for supervisors, managers and directors of companies, to help them to continue to lead their businesses through the recession.

The College has also been working in partnership with key industry clients to help them meet their training needs by developing a series of specific management courses, for example a new Behavioural Change Course for Site Supervisors has been developed with the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). The College has also designed a course to help businesses manage their operations in the economic downturn, which companies have found to be particularly beneficial.

Director of the NCC, Andy Walder, said: "In the current climate it is more important than ever for businesses to be investing in training for their staff. The new training programme has been designed to offer those working in the industry with a greater selection of flexible and bespoke training packages, to meet the needs of individuals and businesses within the sector.

"There are businesses who have cut their training budgets over the past year due to the recession, but we would urge companies to continue to invest in training to ensure that your staff have the skills they need to undertake work to the highest possible standard so your business has competitive advantage now, as well as having the right skills in long term for when the market picks up."
