Battersea Owners To Pay London Living Wage

The owners of Battersea Power Station have agreed to pay the London Living Wage to workers, UCATT has announced.

The decision will apply to all construction workers employed on phase two and three of the project.

The London Living Wage is currently £9.15 an hour, higher than the lowest rate of the Construction Industry Joint Council agreement (£8.52 per hour).


Jerry Swain, UCATT Regional Secretary for London and the South East, said he was "delighted" with the deal.

"This agreement is good news for London construction workers, especially those working on the site from the local community, who are now guaranteed being paid wages they can live on," he said.

UCATT are currently in the process of lobbying construction clients to ensure that the London Living Wage is paid on an increased number of major sites throughout Greater London.
