5000 Kitchens Installed In Neath Port Talbot

Mi-Space has installed 5,000 kitchens across the Neath Port Talbot Borough as part of Neath Port Talbot (NPT) Homes' six year Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) improvement programme.

Since the WHQS programme began, over £75m has been invested.

Along with 5000 kitchens, NPT Homes has fitted 4,383 bathrooms and 3,970 heating systems, as well as 2,969 rewires. A choice of tiles, cupboards, work surfaces and flooring was also given to tenants.


NPT Homes has also recently started external works as part of the WHQS programme, so far completing 153 renders and 757 external wall insulations.

Furthermore, 1,053 roof replacements and 1,717 window and door installations have been carried out.

A Tenant Liaison Officer (TLO) from NPT Homes was assigned to each tenant as part of the installation process.

One tenant, Mrs Morgan, said: "We are so happy with the improvements we have had in our home. Our TLO, Caroline, helped to make sure that the process was smooth and trouble free.

"Everyone who visits says how nice my new kitchen and bathroom looks and we are now thinking of redecorating other rooms in our house."
