A.S. Ballantine was formed in 1953. During 58 very successful years in the Quarry and Civil Engineering Contracting business, we have, in a very real way, been making our mark on the landscape. The superior product which we have been quarrying, supplying and delivering over the years has contributed to the progress which we see all around us - it is a permanent part of the roads, homes and utilities which make life today more convenient and comfortable. A.S. Ballantine Ltd provides Quarry Products, Contract Crushing and Screening Services, Asphalt & Tarmac Supply, Heavy Plant Hire, and Volumetric Concrete Batching Trucks. Plant Hire A.S Ballantine operates a highly successful Plant Hire service, based on modern equipment which it has chosen with rigorous attention to reliability and safety. Kept in Excellent condition by in-house maintenance professionals, and sub-contractors where necessary, the company's specialist fleet of heavy duty equipment offers customers cost-effective peace of mind. Crushing & Screening Plant A number of mobile jaw crushers are available including a Pegson 1100 x 650 jaw crusher and a Kleenmann Reiner Mobycat. The company have also invested in a Pegson 1300 Maxtrak cone crusher. The 1300 Maxtrak is TEREX Pegson's largest tracked cone crusher and is suitable for secondary and tertiary applications with capabilities up to 350 tph. Asphalt & Tarmac Supply A.S. Ballantine supply and lay quality asphalt & tarmac products. Equipment The portfolio of available equipment includes eight excavators capacities from just 1.5 to 50 ton. All of the larger excavators (20 ton and above) may also be fitted with hydraulic rock breakers. Other plant includes two A25D and 1 A40D Volvo articulated dump trucks, a Komatsu WA500 and a Volvo 220 loading shovel are also available for hire. On The Spot Concrete The pedigree of the rotary drum mixer is well established so why choose volumetric machines? Once loaded, it has a fixed amount of concrete to deliver within a fixed period of time before it sets. The mix cannot be changed and, if the customer has over-ordered, concrete goes to waste.
