The Blind Spot

Fereday & Pocock are the longest established independent blinds and curtains manufacturing and installation company in the Thames Valley (if not in the south of England). Having begun life back in 1878 as a manufacturer of canopies for shops and business premises along with a thriving upholstery business.


The pictures you can see above, are originals taken of the streets of Reading dating back to the late 19th century. You can clearly see a number of shops on the Oxford Road with their canopies open and anecdotal evidence would suggest that many of these were supplied by Fereday & Pocock families who began it all those years ago, but we still hold true to the values of our predecessors and continue the traditions of customer satisfaction, quality, value and service.

• Chain operated Roman blind tracking available. Flame retardant fabrics and linings available for commercial applications.
• All heating types available, including tab, pinch, goblet, steel eyelets and of course pencil pleat. Many types of lining available including blackout, thermal, interlining and cotton sateen (in a stunning range of colours).
• Poles in wood and metal in hundreds of styles and designs, including bay poles from suppliers such as Cameron Fuller, Copes, Regency, Silent Gliss and integra. Tracking in plastic or aluminium can be custom made to fit all shapes and sizes of bay windows.
