Askern UK Limited is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of Cable Reels and Drums, supplying all of the major producers in the global cable, extrusion, wire and rope industries. We are one of the few manufacturers with the capability and expertise to supply a full range of drums, reels, bobbins and spools in cardboard, plywood and softwood.
In addition to supplying a standard product range, our experienced innovative team makes us the ideal partner to provide customers with bespoke solutions. We specialise in advising customers on which products would be suitable for their individual requirements.

Softwood Cable Drums
Softwood Cable Drums are specified for heavy duty applications. We can manufacture drums from 650mm to 6000mm in diameter. Softwood Cable Drums are usually supplied assembled, however we can also supply them in kit form which is particularly useful for overseas customers where transport costs need to be kept to a minimum. Drums are manufactured using Russian or Scandinavian softwood for flanges and barrels while steel tie-rods and nuts are used to assemble them.
Plywood Cable Reels
Plywood or MDF Wooden Cable Reels
Askern UK Ltd offer a comprehensive range of plywood and MDF reels suitable for a number of applications including electric and coaxial cable, wire, cordage, rope and textiles.
Cardboard Cable Reels
Cardboard Cable Reels are most suitable for light weight applications such as General Building Cable, Cordage, Rope, Fabrics/Textiles and tape.
Askern UK can supply four standard construction types of solid cardboard reels with flanges from 150mm - 400mm in diameter.
Wooden Packaging Products
Askern UK also manufactures specialist and standard pallets and stillages as well as boxes, cases and U-Frames. We will quote for any specification.
