Dedicated only to long reach solutions, WM Plant Hire operates one of the largest fleet of long reach excavators in the UK suited to multiple applications. We also own the largest long reach in the UK - CAT390F custom built 30m.

From 7 to 30 metres reach, our plant ranges from 7 to 115 tonnes for light to heavy duty demands of land and water based operations.

Specialist attachments, floating plant and fully amphibious excavators, together with experienced operators allow us to fulfil almost every specialist plant requirement.

Our range of smaller and heavy duty excavators suits both inland and coastal applications. GPS underwater dig profile technology with floating plant can increase the scope of hire applications to the benefit of our customers.

Flood Defences / Watercourse Maintenance
WM Plant Hire have been involved in a range of flood protection and alleviation schemes nationally including maintenance dredging on the River Parrett and the largest flood alleviation scheme in the UK, in Leeds.

Marine Construction
Our heavy duty long reach excavators with a variety of attachments can undertake even the most challenging projects, and our detailed knowledge and experienced operators often prove vital in this field.

Coastal Defences

Slope Stabilisation
All our long reach excavators are correctly counter-balanced to ensure stability on embankments. The larger machines are capable of handling soil nailing rigs and masts in excess of 2 tonnes.

Quarrying / Lagoon Clearance
Our excavators are suited to digging sand, gravel and quarry materials in situations where safe working remote from rock faces is necessary or deep excavation, in and around water is required. Hire on hourly rate or on price work.

Emergency Response
Our ability to respond swiftly and commitment to work all times of day has lead us to involvement in a range of emergency response work including debris clearance after flooding, and work to reinstate rail lines.

Specialist Excavations
Our long reach excavators are ideally suited to deep excavations including cofferdams, access shafts, cut and cover tunnelling, deep drainage trenches and installation/removal of underground storage tanks. In remediation works safe working distance afforded by long reach is key.
