The Company was formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland by two of the present directors who together have over 35 years experience in the roofing industry. The business has expanded from a small flat roofing company to a level where it can fill the need of most projects, but still retain the competitive pricing of a small contractor.

Modern Roofing operate in both the commercial and domestic markets with clients ranging from the NHS and large building contractors to home owners. Contracts have varied from small roof repairs and garage roofs to large hotels and school campus projects. Modern Roofing make certain that even the smallest works on domestic dwellings are treated with the same consideration as our larger contracts.

Although Modern Roofing's expertise is in the installation of Single-Ply Membranes, we also provide many other roofing services.

Modern Roofing pride themselves in the proactive partnerships they have formed with the leading roof system manufacturers which has contributed to the company's success. Our membranes come with 35 year BBA durability certificates and guarantees.

A commitment to training at all levels has resulted in a highly trained workforce. Modern Roofing do not sub-contract projects to less qualified contractors. Only directly employed tradesmen are utilised, which has resulted in a high level of workmanship and quality. Over the years Modern Roofing have build a core of tradesmen that are not only highly trained but friendly, helpful and customer focused.

Integrity Testing
As part of the services provided, we have created a dedicated roof testing and maintenance division. Our service is client focused and tailored to the individual needs of the customer. The service provided can vary from a home owner with a leaking roof or requiring annual cleaning of gutters to large businesses requiring a full emergency leak repair and maintenance service.

With our full emergency leak repair and maintenance service clients are given a dedicated telephone number and we will respond to a leak within the central belt of Scotland within 24 hours. If the ingress of water is affecting the trading operation of our clients business then we aim to be on site within 3 hours. Included in this service is bi-annual roof integrity testing using state of the art equipment and a roof report with digital images as to clearly show the condition of the roof.

We provide this service for all roofing types including tiled, slate, felt, metal decked and single-ply membranes.

Modern Roofing are members of The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and have specialist leak and roof degradation testing equipment, that removes the guess work from leak detection and preventative maintenance. The equipment utilised by Modern Roofing include thermal imaging cameras, mechanical probes, Buckleys wet roof leak detector and Buckleys PD40R Spark tester.
